First off, let me say I really can’t take credit for this recipe. I was immensely inspired by Valor’s custom Aquaman and decided I wanted to adapt it for myself. You can see his by clicking HERE.

What a nightmare, though. What should have been a relatively straightforward custom turned into an experiment gone awry when I decided to add the fish scales to his chest. Rather than sculpt them, I thought that I could find a nice sized glitter and glue enough of them across Aquaman’s chest to build up a surface. It looked great at first, but once painted Aquaman looked like a walking Frosted Flakes monster. Scary. So… all of that had to be removed. Using a dental pick. And a lot of solvents. It took forever, I tell ya!

Ultimately, I repainted him again and this time etched the lines into his chest. True, they’re not exactly scales, but it does give the chest enough of a texture to satisfy me. And besides, I’m not even an Aquaman fan. Or at least that’s what I keep telling myself.

Oh yeah, the DCD Hal Jordon Green Lantern is the base, with a heavily reworked Golden Age Flash head on top. The neck is Kneadatite. Make sense?
