I haven’t had the opportunity to paint portraits of children too often before, and it is always an interesting challenge. Clover was a commissioned piece for a friend of mine as a birthday present for his wife’s birthday. I tried to keep this one a little looser and lighter than some of my other portraits, and the patterning on the shirt was a joy to paint.
