This commissioned piece features a former coworker of mine. She was pretty jubilant to begin with, and she wanted the painting to capture a time in her life where she’s never been happier.

With this painting, I wanted to explore a mixture of more intentional composition and to juxtapose various pattern effects. I’m still afraid to let go of the illustration work at this point, but the experience set the stage for more developed palettes with future paintings.
