For this project I wanted to experiment with a different approach. The initial concept was to paint a subject on numerous panels, all of which were separated and slightly askew. I would then reconfigure the panels so that they were closer and aligned.
The idea would be to create a portrait that was slightly distorted and a little uncomfortable. However, upon viewing the finished painting, I decided to leave the canvas panels in place, with the underlying red board showing through. This ended up making for a more interesting piece with an unexpected result.
