This figure represents my second attempt at a Robin custom. I felt my previous version looked too old and was perhaps a little too inspired by the Chris O’Donnell movie Robin design. I decided to try the character again, this time going for a much younger approach.
The base figure this new Robin comes from an X-Men Gambit figure. Gambit’s hands were ridiculously over-sized. I replaced these with more proportionate hands and then sculpted the boot and chestplate detailing using Super Sculpy. Unfortunately, I do not recall where the cape came from.
Although this Robin is fairly pre-posed and cannot stand fully upright, he does crouch really nicely. On the shelf, it looks as if Robin is peering down from a building ledge, about to leap into action.
