In the summer of 2017, I took a Figure Distortion painting class at the School of Visual Arts. The painting started off somewhat uninspired, a rather pedestrian approach to a figurative work. I sat with the piece for a year, and then decided to revisit it. I separated out the canvas, and added in a third, previously unrelated canvas. By stitching the pieces together with twine, it help add additional layers to the narrative that I felt had been previously missing.
